Stingers Select Try-Outs

Stingers Softball is pleased to announce details of our 2019 Select Program! The Select Program is an extension of House League and is designed to provide additional training and skill development throughout the year as well as additional games at a higher competitive level. Each of our Select Teams will participate in at least 3 one-day Ontario Select Softball Tournament Association (OSSTA) sanctioned tournaments throughout the season and participate in the two-day provincial finals held in August.

Players wanting to be considered for a Select Team must attend at least 2 of the 3 scheduled try-outs for their division. Select Coaches and Evaluators will be looking for the best players to fill positions on the Select Teams. They will be looking for players with strong softball skills, but players must also have a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and have fun in order to be considered for a position on a Select Team.

The Schedule is as follows:

Tuesday April 23rd 6pm-8pm Bantam & Midget at Alexander Muir P.S. 75 Ford Wilson Dr. Newmarket

Thursday April 25th 6pm-8pm Squirt & Novice at Stone Haven P.S. 875 Stonehaven Ave, Newmarket

Saturday April 27th 8am-10am (Squirt, Novice, Bantam, Midget) at the Newmarket Soccer Club Dome located at 621 Newpark Blvd. Your specific time slot will be emailed to you.

Note: A $15 per player fee is required for this portion of the try-out as it’s part of our Spring Training event. You must register in advance Spring Training Registration and click “register”. The deadline to register for the Spring Training portion of the evaluations is April 23rd.

Thursday May 2nd 6pm-8pm Bantam & Midget at Stone Haven P.S. 875 Stonehaven Ave, Newmarket

Remember, in order to be considered for a Select Team a player must attend at least 2 of the 3 scheduled try-outs for their division.

Final team selection for Squirt and Novice will be made on April 30th Bantam and Midget decisions will be made on May 2nd. Players will be notified by email.
